This morning, students, parents/carers, and staff gathered to celebrate another set of excellent GCSE results at Easington Academy. The Class of 2024 broke records in many subjects and achieved our school’s best English and Maths results ever.
The brilliant results mean that students have unlocked their next steps, including further study, apprenticeships, employment and training. The results affirm our school's fantastic reputation in the community for delivering high-quality education to local young people.
A significant proportion of students achieved Grade 7 and above, and as always, there were many outstanding individual performances, including:
- Daniel with 5 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, D*2 and a grade 7 who will now study chemistry, biology, maths and psychology.
- Cameron with 5 grade 9s and 5 grade 8s who is looking forward to studying A levels in history, English Literature and French.
- Shay with 2 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, D2 and 3 grade 7s who will study A Levels at Durham Sixth Form College.
- Layla -Rose with 4 grade 8s and 6 grade 7s who is excited about studying A Levels at St Aiden’s.
Speaking of the success, our Headteacher, Nicola Falconer, said:
“Results of this quality don’t just happen, they are the product of hard work, effective teamwork and strong relationships between students, staff and parents/carers.
I am incredibly proud of all of our students; their results are fantastic, and they have grown into confident, resilient, responsible and caring young adults who will be greatly missed at Easington Academy.
A huge thank you to our staff who have once again gone above and beyond to ensure that every child is able to perform to the best of their ability. Their drive and commitment never cease to amaze me.
