Phil lives in Chester le Street and, after spending the first part of his career in the private sector, he joined the NHS in 2005, initially working within community services before moving to The Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust in April 2011. He is a Senior Manager in the Trust NHS, currently in the role of Directorate Manager of Cancer and Haematology Services at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at The Freeman Hospital.
Phil is a Freeman of the City of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a member of the Stewards Management Committee of the organisation. He is an FA qualified football coach and is involved in ladies and girls football where he coaches the under 14 girls team and provides specialist goalkeeping coaching across the whole club at CLS Amazons FC in Chester le Street.
Phil is married with two girls, the eldest recently completing her Master’s studies and the younger commencing her third year as an undergraduate at university in September 2018.
Phil looks forward to establishing a long lasting relationship with the Academy in his role as governor.
